Privacy Policy
Effective date:
This policy explains what information the mobile game Dawnbreak: Undead Defense (“the game”) uses, why, and the choices you have. The game is published by SESAME FORTUNE (“we”, “us”).
SESAME FORTUNE, a company registered in France, is the data controller: we decide how and why your data is used.
Summary
- You do not need an account, an email address or a password to play.
- Your game progress is saved in the cloud under a random, anonymous ID.
- The game shows rewarded ads from Google AdMob. You only watch one when you choose to.
- We do not use analytics or crash reporting tools, and we never sell your data.
Information we use and why
Anonymous game account (Firebase Authentication)
When the game first connects to the internet, it signs in anonymously to Firebase Authentication, a Google service. This creates a random user ID for this installation of the game. The ID is not linked to your name, email address, phone number or Google account. We use it only to keep your cloud save separate from other players’ saves and to protect it.
When the game connects, Firebase and Google Cloud also receive your device’s IP address and technical data about the request (such as its time). Google uses them to deliver the service and keep it secure.
Cloud save (Cloud Firestore)
Your game progress is stored in Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud) under your anonymous ID: stars earned per map, coins, heroes and their experience, items and equipment, upgrades, tutorial progress, daily gift state, whether ads have been removed, and the time of the last save. Your settings (sound, language, vibration and similar) stay on your device and are never uploaded. We use this data to save your progress and to let you restore it on another device with your recovery code.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The game shows rewarded ads through Google AdMob. When an ad is requested, Google may collect your device’s advertising ID, device information (such as model, operating system and language), your IP address (from which Google estimates a coarse location) and how you interact with the ad. Google uses this information to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. The Google Mobile Ads SDK also collects diagnostic and performance data (such as crash logs and ad loading times) and an approximate location derived from your IP address, to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud.
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the game asks for your choices through Google’s consent form (User Messaging Platform) before ads are loaded, and ads are personalised only if you agree. You can change your choices at any time in the game under Settings → Privacy options. Wherever you live, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings; once it is deleted, it can no longer be used to personalise ads.
Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Purchases (Google Play Billing)
If you buy “Remove ads”, the payment is handled by Google Play Billing. We never see your payment details. The game receives a purchase confirmation (a purchase token) from Google Play and uses it only to confirm and restore your purchase. The fact that ads are removed is saved with your game progress. If your cloud save is deleted, the purchase stays with Google Play: restore it in Settings → Support the game → Restore purchases.
What we do not collect
- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools.
- No name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location. The game does not ask for location, contacts, camera or microphone permissions.
- If you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to reply to you.
Where data is stored
The data is stored on Google servers, which may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Google protects this data with the safeguards described in its policies.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the game you asked for, including your cloud save and your purchases.
- Consent: for personalised ads, asked through Google’s consent form. You can withdraw it at any time under Settings → Privacy options.
- Legitimate interests: to keep our services secure and to prevent fraud and cheating.
- Legal obligations: when the law requires us to keep or disclose data.
How long we keep data
- Cloud save: until you ask us to delete it, or until we close the game’s online service.
- Emails to support: as long as needed to help you, and at most 2 years after the conversation ends. Emails that contain your recovery code are deleted as soon as your request is completed.
- Ad and purchase data: Google keeps it according to its own policies.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your cloud data: see Delete your data.
- Uninstalling the game removes all game data stored on your device.
- Ads: change your choices under Settings → Privacy options (shown where a consent form applies), or reset your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to its use and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email us with your recovery code so that we can find your data.
- If you live in the EU, you may complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or to the authority of your own country.
Security
All connections use encryption (HTTPS). Security rules let only your anonymous ID read or change your cloud save. Your recovery code works like a password: anyone who has it can restore your progress. Never share it with anyone else, and send it only to support@sesamefortune.com when you ask us to restore or delete your data or to use your rights.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game, email us with the recovery code shown in the game’s Settings, and we will delete the related data as described on Delete your data. Without the code, we cannot tell which anonymous data belongs to the child.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date. For important changes, we will also tell you in the game or on its store page.
